Kaohsiung Film Fund
Supporting Film Production by the Kaohsiung City Government Cultural Bureau
Since 2007, the Kaohsiung City Government has pioneered the concept of "film subsidies," making it the first in the country to introduce such a program. It established the "The Film Development and Production Center" to assist film crews in shooting scenes in Kaohsiung, combining film production subsidies with on-set support. This initiative has opened a new chapter in "city marketing." In recent years, the city has further introduced the concept of a "virtuous cycle" and collaborated with the Kaohsiung City Cultural Foundation to subsidize film investments. This increased government resources to support the revival of Taiwanese cinema, allowing funds to circulate within the industry. By leveraging local industry resources, this collaboration between local government and the film industry aims to create a win-win situation.
